Orbital offers an affordable service for converting newspaper content with a high degree of accuracy, even newspapers whose source material—the original papers or the microfilm—present capture difficulties. We employ OCR (Optical Character Recognition) of the data, double-keyboarding, double-keyboarding with a full proof, or a combination of these approaches. Orbital works diligently to apply the lowest cost option that will yield the desired quality.

DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) is an XML-based international standard for the authoring, production and delivery of information. Initially developed by IBM for technical documentation, DITA is now publicly available and is applied to technical and other types of documentation in many industries. The modular architecture organizes content into topics that may be assembled and reassembled via DITA maps whose function is to organize the topics into a desired order and hierarchy. This architecture provides for content reuse and ease of updates and maintenance.

Electronic publishing or ePublishing includes digital publication of books and electronic articles, and the development of digital libraries and catalogs. More and more people are reading eBooks in place of printed books, and the ePub format maintained by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF), is the de facto standard for eBooks. ".ePub" is the file extension of an XML format for reflowable digital books and publications.
